I have recently discovered freecycle.com.

Although an american site, you can create and join local groups where people post things they have no further need for but are loathe to throw away.

There is an exeter and poole group but nothing closer.

Maybe we could start a more local one or use this site as one?

What does the team think? Question

sounds like a good idea but do you think enough people would take part to make it worth it?

Good question Exclamation

Advertising it to begin with certainly helps. It has lit up some of the local freecycle sites

If we agree to try it we would need an article in the News or something. Question

If anyone will volunteer to moderate it I am prepared to create a new debate topic for freecycling in Uplyme.

I have bitten the bullet and followed Fiona’s example and subscribed to Axe Valley Freecycle at

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AxeValleyFreecycle/

It was really quite painless. People use it from Bridport to Marshwood to Lyme and Axminster and still they only have 170 members. The idea of having an Uplyme Freecycle is a little premature.

Give it a go.
