Shocked
Well, if we didn't think we were in a dogfight before this result, we do now....
The score sounds like a battering, but we had some positive moments.
Pre-match problems set in again, when our goalkeeper was unavailable due to injury; so evergreen Phil Hodder stepped into the breach for the club- again. He loves the limelight really. To be fair to him, within the first 15 minutes he had pulled off a save low to his left that drew applause from everyone watching. His plastic knee only just stayed attached (allegedly).
Our luck wasn’t in again, and we went a goal behind to a cross/shot that sailed into the far corner. But, we fought on, and Coomber marauded forward from midfield and sent a shot into the top corner. He was so shocked that he momentarily tried heading for the changing rooms to celebrate, but steadied himself when we suggested that there was still 75 minutes of the match remaining. That was probably the highlight of the match.
A pivotal moment came with the scores tied at 1-1. The Charmouth left back fell in his box, and handled the ball so clearly, that any 70-year-old could have spotted it. Unfortunately, our referee was 71, and somehow managed to miss it. I complained-as usual in my very popular style- but it was turned down. That was the turning point.

After that, the pitch cut up very badly, and the Charmouth side grabbed the initiative and held onto it. We had a few sloppy moments again, and were punished severely, which is happening game after game.
James Cope grabbed a goal to take it to 4-2, at which point we showed some spirit, but we were hit on the break, and that was that.
Fair play to Charmouth; they played a disciplined game, and we struggled to play as a unit.
Saturday, we go to Hinton, who are on a big roll, and then travel to Chard United in what could be our most important game of the season….. stay tuned. Any prayers would be appreciated.
