The EDDC building control department came in for some stick at the October parish council meeting when Colin Pratt revealed that it recently came to light (after a change in ownership of one house from a single occupant to a young family with an increased water consumption) that two attached houses were not connected to the sewage system. Surprised

The developer John Steven cannot be blamed for this one, apart from perhaps his questionable selection of builders. The culprit, and I imagine that Mr Steven has good cause for compensation, is EDDC's Building Control Department in obviously not carrying out their proper inspections.

Letís hope that the owners of properties on Barnes Meadow come under the NHBC 10 year guarantee scheme Sad

We all have NHBC guarantees up here at Barnes Meadow (obviously!) and the vast majority of us are very happy with our individual houses.

Thanks for your concern though, Rhodie

Reports at the October 2007 parish council meeting now indicate that all is not well regarding certificates for newly completed houses. See:
