That's a very good question. It does look scruffy.

The completion of the Barnes Meadow road was brought up at a recent parish council meeting. Apparently the final surface will not be added until the last house has been built. When will that be? The downturn in the house building market may now influence that particularly when considering that John Steven has had previous financial problems.

As for the Millennium Copse. Rome canít be built in a day. Over the last few winters saplings have been planted and if they have survived should be making themselves obvious soon! At the time of one planting session the parish council had one or two objections from people living at Barnes Meadow that the trees would eventually spoil their views!

It would be helpful if a parish councillor could occasionally read this forum and answer these kinds of questions. The parish council website offers no facility for these questions. I think that it can be said that the official parish council website has not lived up to its potential or our expectations.

A history of Barnes Meadow can be found at: http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~rhg/parish/barnesmeadowhistory.html
