Each time I drive past the turn off to Tappers Knapp I am intrigued by the sign that points to ďMunicipal PoolĒ.

I am not aware that the parish or district council have built a swimming pool somewhere up Springhead Road neither is the sign an official council one. I have spoken to people who have followed this direction without joy. I suppose that if you did drive on you would eventually arrive at the Flamingo Pool in Axminster.

Is there a joke here that I just canít crack Confused

Please put me out of my misery.

Drive into Uplyme from Lyme through the pinch point and there on the left pointing towards Tappers Knapp is the hand written sign. Canít oblige with a picture as I donít have a digital camera but Iíll see if someone will take a picture for me.

Drove by this morning to try to get a picture for you but no sign of sign. Are you sure you weren't on the way home from the Talbot when you saw it Smile ?

Cheers,
Geoff.

I can comfirm that there were signs up a few weeks ago. The were on fluoresent card and looked very temporary. I suspect that someone was having a pool party and put up these joke signs to assist guests

You could have it and the reason that they were in place for many weeks could be solely that they did not bother to remove them after the event. Now I can sleep at nights. Thanks.

Doh !

Perhaps we could start a campaign for an olympic sized swimming pool in the village, allowing villagers to practice their aquatic technique in readiness for the London games in 2012?

As an extra bonus, it could act as a water reservoir for the village in case of drought caused by prolonged hot weather (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hmm).
