I dont know but i remember when i was at primary school the vicor who was then Mr Worth told us that one of the panels on the ceiling had one less star as the man who did the stars spent years doing them and died before finishing the last one. It wasnt until my grandads funeral and i asked him about it he said that someone else painted it on there straight away and i had spent years counting and looking.

Ah, another great story bites the dust !

Personally, (speaking as a non-church-goer) I think it's one of the nicest designs I've ever seen for a rural parish church ceiling.

My missus reckons the panels all have the same number of starts - is that correct ?

Geoff.

I reckon someone will count them over the Christmas period, or else we may never know, you know!
