My grandmother worked as a sort of housekeeper companion, in the 1950s, to two Miss Lutyens', I believe in Uplyme.

After all this time, I can't remember the address, but, as I am staying in Uplyme later this year, I would be interested to know if anyone can remember the house name, and whether it is still there.

Thanks for your help

I used to mow the lawn for a Miss Lutyens, around 1979/1980, at the age of 15/16. Although our family lived in Uplyme, this Miss Lutyens lived in Lyme - one of the first houses on the left as you go down Hill Road from the main road (aka Silver Street).

To a 15-year old, she could have been anything between 60 and 90 years old then - but I suppose she was probably in her 70s ... ? There was no sister then, but there may well have been a few years beforehand.
