Minutes of last meeting. Accepted
Matters arising. Teas Christine Matthews will prepare all Saturday teas and deliver them to the ground. Players will still have to lay out the food and brew the tea and wash up, unless wives girlfriend can be encouraged to help. Extra teas will be made for sponsors and for sale to spectators. Match fees will rise to £7.50 to cover the cost. Players will make Sunday teas and standard fee of £5 will remain. Yearly subs will remain at £20 if paid before 30th April. £25 after that date.
Chairman’s Report Steve to invite a team from the Bassett League to play cricket football and golf over a long weekend early in April [13-16th] Steve to write to all sponsors to explain new sponsorship deals for match balls, match days and advertising of products on match day. Players will have opportunity to buy Somerset County match tickets from a work contact of Steve Batey. Proposal to raise charge for cans at the bar to £2. Agreed. Proposal. Paul and June to be asked to become Hon Members. Agreed.
Savings Account £ 2,895 Current account £1, 025 excluding Dorset Youth Opportunities grant monies of £3,300 and junior grant for £395 from Lyme Regis Town Council grant. E Clarke will proceed to spend the grant on two mobile nets for use at the ground and at Woodroffe School. Any surplus money will be used to buy a ball feeder and or a boundary rope. E Clarke has also applied for a grant from the Carnival Committee to buy shirts for U11 team.
Ground. Three mowers, Spiker and Roller to be serviced. Net and netting tidied up for winter duration. John Hunt to oversee.
Fixtures. More Sunday fixtures have been arranged but more are required. Sunday 3rd June will be date of the Centenary Match v Crewkerne. To played in C19th outfits. Macho Moustaches compulsory.
Ashley hopes that the team will be similar to the one that was so consistent over the second half of the season with youngsters being given their opportunities.
John Whetlor’s Aussie team Sacred Heart will be looking for a midweek tour game 9th May. Caps money £15 per head still to be collected from the majority of 1st XI players.
Close season Golf competition. Ashley will e-mail players with details.
Brian hoped to build his side around regular players and promising new young players.
Eddie will arrange a series of net sessions at Woodroffe Tuesdays and Thursdays after Easter where all prospective players will be expected to attend, pay their subs and give their availability for the first few matches.
Next Meeting Friday 17th February 7pm in the Talbot.
