Yep heard that too................oooh should be full of lovely visitors whose opinions are as fat as their wallets. Don't be too quick to generalise, though.

I've driven past in the evening a couple of times recently and there have been lights on in an upstairs window. Is something happening at last?

It looks terrible - almost derelict. What a damn shame.

Strikes me that an asking price of 200k - 500k for a long closed pub is a little optimistic, especially given the amount of remedial work/maintenance required ?

I suppose there is always the spectre that someone will buy it for 250k and just turn it into a house with paddock ?

Or do you know someone who is interested MVC ?

Mr Marshwood Vale Cider - now we know why you are so bitter re The Bottle Inn. You thought that you were going to run the pub last year!! What a joke- why did you think that you were fit to run it!! and what an idiot you made of yourself in front of their son hitting your head on your car in frustration when you knew you were not in the picture! Anybody reading this - beware of his rantings!

Hi Polly and Marshwoodvale,

So, is the Bottle actually going to re-open soon ? If so, do we know who the new landlord will be and what his/her plans are?

Cheers,
Geoff.

The people living in the pub are the couple hoping to run it. I've spoken to more than one person who has spoken to the new landlords and the rumour is they are hoping to open in July.

Either very brave or very foolish, hopefully the former.

Well there would certainly appear to be some action taking place at the Bottle at last. There was a chap up a ladder painting window frames earlier and I though the thatch looked a bit more sorted.

Oddly, someone has hand written a large 'YES' on a bit of plywood out by the road ?? Maybe there will be an appearance by the 70s prog rock band of the same name on opening night? Hope so !
