MINUTES OF THE COMMITTEE MEETING OF 13 JANUARY 2014 WERE APPROVED.

CHAIRMAN’S AND GROUND REPORT
The chairman reported that he and Steve Batey had undertaken a successful sponsorship trip recently and had received pledges of £640. He reported that the mowers were away for servicing and the ground was in good condition despite the very wet weather of late.
DJ reported that the 2nd X1 home fixtures for 14th June and 12 July at All Saints & Chardstock respectively had been sent to League Fixtures Secretary for inclusion in League Handbook. Invited to Mayor’s Civic Night – John Hunt will probably attend. Talbot Contract 2014, a contract on same lines as last year has been prepared and DJ will contact Pete Morton to get it signed. United Uplyme Charities has donated funds for Eddie to buy a coaching mat to develop batting skills. Eddie is also taking ECB Level 2 coaching award which will enable us to apply for club mark and receive funding from ECB.
1st X1 CAPTAIN’S REPORT
SB advised that further sponsorship has been received from Lyme Regis Cheesemonger Justin and will be used to buy shirts and caps for onward sale to players. He reported that two Australian players would be joining us in April – NICK DINNISON (Premier Grade) and CHARLIE WARNER (Grade 3) and as both are UK passport holders they can both play at the same time in league fixtures. Adrian Wood, a printer relative of Wallace Blackmore is willing to print handbooks and fixture card free of charge and View from Lyme will produce them for a nominal charge. Practice matches are arranged for Sunday 27 April v Woodroffe, and Wednesday 30 April v Seaton (t20) and a further evening match v Axminster is likely on 23rd April or 7th May. He also reported that Robbie Prior of Axminster 1st X1 was willing to transfer and DJ agreed to obtain the necessary form.
NP reported club balances at CA £850-51p and DA at £398-29p. He has ordered match balls.
LEAGUE AGM REPORT
DJ reported that most of the DCL rule changes went through as proposed and all four of the changes we were particularly interested in were dealt with as we wished. This meant that our games continue to commence at 2pm (except four last 4) and no bowler can bowl more than nine overs in a 45 over match – this is as before. In addition a side chasing a declaration successfully will now receive the additional 2 bonus points which would have gone to the declaring team if they had failed.

The 2014 club membership application form is now available and copies have been handed to SB and will be given to RH so that players can start to sign on. In addition, DJ will be available at nets to sign players on and collect membership fees as follows:

STUDENT 14+ MEMBERSHIP £15
COLT MEMBERSHIP (under 14) £10
