Readers of Uplyme ,com may be interested in the following extract from an email recieved from Orange ;-

Thank you for your reply mail regarding coverage in the DT7 3RP.

Since our last reply mail to you regarding service in Lyme Regis DT7 area, we have been informed of the following -

Lyme Regis is covered by 2 sites, DOR57 and DVN45. Orange has lost an appeal to retain DOR57, which is situated on a council carpark - this site is being switched off.. Unfortunately, DVN45 is networked through DOR57, so this means we lose this site as well, leaving the whole of Lyme Regis without Orange coverage. A replacement networking site has been found for DVN45 and we are currently in the process of obtaining a licence.

No further details are available at this time.

Mrs. Uplyme.com was at Woodroffe just now and reports 5 bars of Orange signal down there.

Wonder if they are providing a temporary fix ?
I consulted the Orange coverage website at http://coverage.orange.co.uk/uk/UKCoverageSearch.htm which, if you type in your Uplyme postcode, suggests that coverage is "High quality voice and standard data" not just now, but also for the next 6mths.

It also boldly states "We are constantly increasing and improving the Orange network there may be areas not shown on our map where you can use your phone. "

Geoff.
