This is one of the most useful veg gardening websites I have found.

http://www.hdra.org.uk/todo_now/veg_gard_now.htm

For those who don't already know, the HDRA is a registered charity, and Europe's largest organic membership organisation.
It is dedicated to researching and promoting organic gardening, farming and food.

Thatís it spread the word Geoff. I have been a member for 30 years and I can recommend joining if you want to support research into organic growing. They also run the Heritage Seed Programme in which their members preserve and make available to other members old varieties that are no longer supported commercially and the sale of such is banned. The HSP therefore give away the seed to members of the HSP. A very reasonable membership fee will get you six vegetable varieties from their catalogue each year.

A certain climbing French beans called Mr Hearnís Purple Flowered is a variety I have recommended and offered to Geoff recently. Anyone else want to try them? An abundant cropper, stringless, tasty and freezes well.
