Committee Meeting 26th January 2009
Fixtures List almost completed. Friendly v Seaton 18th April to be added. Fixtures for cricket week needed. Add Friday 28th August Club to host Junior District U11 match West v South.
Treasurers report £4,000 in savings account £1,100 in current. Shirts and sweaters ordered from Boundary Sports for £352. Cost to players £15 per item. Roger to purchase 3 ring binders and 100 scoresheets. 36 match balls @£12.50 each. Eddie to enquire about cost of net etc to provide more practice areas. EC asked to bill the school for 6 pitches at £25.
Ground Report Fence replaced ‘immaculately’ . Scoreboard painted. Flagpole cut down end covered. Tree behind scoreboard removed. David Gear from Trustees has serviced the strimmer. Roger and Adam have spiked the square, seeded and fertilized.
Drainage. Tim Edwards has promised to do the work. However if it is not done within the next few weeks the surface will not have time to recover and the work will have to be done at the end of the season.
Thanks to Roger for all the work done. Concern about mole problem. Trustees will have to investigate and deal with. ACTION Paul to contact Beryl Denham [chair of the trustees] to discuss rent agreement and contract regarding who is responsible for what with regard to maintenance of the field.
Junior report Uplyme will have U11, U13 and U15 in the West Dorset leagues this season. Matches to be played Mondays, Thursdays and Tuesdays respectively. Fixture lists to be posted in the club house. Support from senior members with regard to coaching, umpiring, manning the bar for home games would be most welcome. Contact Eddie if you can help.
Captain’s Reports Monday night indoor cricket at Woodroffe.Let Ashley know if you would like a game. Ashley to arrange Curry Night at L’Aquilla in Lyme on Friday 27th March. It is hoped that all members who intend to play regularly this season will attend. This will also be signing on night. Ali to contact David Norman regarding vice captaincy. Eddie is keen to do the job with respect to helping Ali on the pitch, introducing youngsters, advising on selection and maintaining continuity with regard to the club youth policy. Ali to contact Eddie with decision.
David Jones to produce newsletter for all members. This will be delivered before start of nets on Thursday 26th March at Woodroffe School [8 to 9.30] £2 per head.
David to organize tea rota for the season. Same people will also be responsible for running the bar that evening. Roger asked that players from home team should turn up earlier on Saturdays to help prepare wicket and ground. Also opportunity for pre match practice if that has not been possible in the week. Next meeting. Monday 2nd March 6.30 in Clubhouse.
