DEAR PARENTS, SCOUTS & FRIENDS,
Just to inform you of our new Fun Packed Autumn Term Programme. We also have a New Leader, a new Quartermaster & a new batch of scouts joining too! (we now have 18 scouts & spaces for only 6 more. To Join: Contact Ed Blundell: 01297 444 037 or: 07857-905-464 for full details. ) We're planning a Saturday Paint-Balling event sometime over this term, we'll let you know when as soon as we can confirm. Our leaders have once again completed the Annual Child Safety Protection Course, ensuring we are up to date & fully knowledgeable In Child Safety & Protection Principles & Procedures.

S.O.P'S: (SCOUT OPERATING PROCEDURES)
TIMINGS: Start time: 5:30pm Pick up: 7:30pm. Flag Break , Inspection, evening outline.
SIGNING IN: all scouts must sign in & sign out at the end of the meeting, thank you.
RUCKSACK: with: water bottle, appropriate jacket (seasonal), a small penknife (blade 3 inches max. & subject to parental agreement),
Scout folder, torch, gloves, hat, waterproof jacket, Scout Staff. “Be Prepared”Points awarded for complete kit.
UNIFORM WEARING: On normal meeting evening, Uniform Shirt, Neckerchief & Woggle, Shoulder Flash, Dark Coloured Trousers / Shorts, Clean
Shoes. (Bring Scout Tee-Shirt to change into)

We've some of the lowest Scout Subs: £1.82 / session, great value we think. By year end we'll have spent more than 32 sessions outside (total 41) Outdoorsy enough? As always the FIRST Couple of Sessions are FREE as a taster, So come along, you will enjoy it more than you think! ( 9 3/4 to 15+)

16/09/2010 -Margaret's Wood - Intro to the Autumn Term, kit & uniform checks, & organizing QM Stores, Wide Games (SCOUT MONKEY) & Snack. (DONE! ) Very Happy
23/09/2010 - Margaret's Wood - Tree Recognition, Tenderfoot's trail makings, Navigation without Compass, Wide game in woods.
30/09/2010 - Margaret's Wood - Tentage, putting up & packing tents, this is a 2nd class test, & an intro for Tenderfoot's, wide game if time.
07/10/2010 - Margaret's Wood - Navigation Hike, test for 2nd class Test & intro for Tenderfoot's (rucksacks will be checked)
14/10/2010 - Margaret's Wood - Care of hand Tools & Making Fire wood, 2nd class will make a camp fire & prep a simple meal & hot drink, tenderfoots will learn lighting fires. wide game if time.

28/10/2010 Woodmead Halls, Lyme Regis - Cooking & Healthy Living, all will learn cooking, with an emphasis on health & hygiene & food safety. Wide game BRING TORCHES
04/11/10 PINHAY HOUSE - Fireworks evening at PINHAY HOUSE, this will be for All Scouts, who will need to bring some small change for donating at the end. BRING TORCHES
11/11/10 meet at Uplyme Village Hall - Highway Code, Road Safety, All will learn / re-learn, with emphasis on safety in crossing & awareness of other road users. BRING TORCHES
14/11/10 Uplyme Village Church - REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY SERVICE. All Scouts please attend, in full Dress Uniform, with Beret, Best turn out please, polished shoes, clean dark trousers / skirt. Form up on the Village Car Park
18/11/10 meet at - Uplyme Village Hall - Recognising Local area, how to contact for help, local bus routes, ability to draw a recognisable area sketch map. With a march into Lyme Regis. BRING TORCHES
25/11/10 Woodmead Halls, Lyme Regis - First Aid & Lashings, making emergency stretchers, casualty evacuation Your Stretchers will be used, they will have to be well made!
02/11/10 Woodmead Halls, Lyme Regis - Card Making, X'mas Pudding Making, (with a special Guest chef) carol singing practice, if own an instrument bring it, a musical family member invite them along
09/12/10 Location to be Confirmed - CAROLE SINGING at a local Residential Home, this is our chance to give back to local residents a bit of seasonal cheer!, All Scouts Please Attend. This time can we please have more Dad's attend as last year it was all Mum's
