a number of my mates have had close calls with cars on the walk home from school i reely recomend crossing gaurds ect because we have already had a number of accidents lukily none of them kids but i belive its a matter of time . also alot of drivers ignore students waiting to cross it took me about 10 minutes just to get from bus bay to the other side

I agree, I go on a bus and still I see many kids waiting to cross the road at bus bay.
3 years ago (when I was in yr6,) a friend of mine got hit by a car and broke his hip in two places.

This comes on to what rhodie and geoff were saying in the 20 mph forum.
