Does anyone know if Holly Hill Nursery is selling trees again this year and if so, is the lane is safely passable either down from the top or up from the village ? (I could not find a phone number for the nursery)

If not, where would you recommend we get our tree this year ?

Can't comment on the lane other than that Tappers Nap seemed to be "sort of" passable when we walked through the Glen and there seemed to be track marks going up Springhead Road.

I have a vague recollection that the farm was for sale earlier this year?

Millers Farmshop at Kilmington had trees when we were out there last week (when we could get out!), I only looked at the small ones but they looked reasonably priced and the road should be clear.

It was only the bungalow that was sold. The Christmas Tree Nursery is still under the same ownership but I don't know if they are selling trees this year.

Impassable if you haven't got a four wheel drive. We can't get out and no one can get in. We haven't even seen the postman or community nurses since Friday.

For your information I'm talking about Harcombe Road and the upper part of Rhode Lane.

Thanks Rhodie,

Sorry to hear you are cut off. Hope you can dig your way out soon.

It turns out that Roger Chiplin of Holly Hill is definately still open for business despite the snow. The phone no is 445482 and he was kind enough to deliver my tree for me as he was passing. Even Roger is using the top road though.

I am glad as we have always had our trees from Holly Hill and they have always been really good.

Glad you got one Geoff, they had very little left at Millers yesterday when we finally got out there!
