At the last Council meeting, it was agreed that the Clerk would be able to post Council-related news items on the forum.

This is the first one.

Playground news

Contrary to some suggestions, the playground has not been vandalised! Flood relief works are due to take place in the next few weeks that will necessitate the digging of a ditch along the back of the playground. Play equipment and a bench have been removed so they do not get damaged. During the works, the playground will be temporarily closed for safety reasons.

Tree Warden

Can you help? Mr D Sole has resigned as tree warden, after many years of valuable service to the parish. If you are interested in keeping Uplyme beautiful and have an hour or two to spare each month, please consider volunteering for this important post. Contact the Clerk or any Councillor for more information.

Highways, traffic or parking problems?

Mr Brian Hoare, who is reponsible for roads in the parish, has asked me to remind you that he holds a weekly surgery in the Old Courtyard above the Arts Cafe in Church St, Axminster every Thursday morning, from 9:30-12:30. You can call him on 01297 34025 during this time.

Side waste

You will have seen a rash of stickers on your gull sacks and wheelie bins, explaining that you can no longer leave side waste for collection (that is, extra sacks or containers outside the proper receptacle). So, please ensure you don't leave extra rubbish out for vermin to explore! Such waste will need to be recycled if possible, or otherwise taken to the tip.
