Uplyme Parish Council is organising a working party to clear the silt and debris from the playground this Sunday 13th January at 10.30 am. Volunteers are asked to come along and help restore this much-used village facility so it can be opened again after the recent flooding.

Parents: If your children use the playground, please come along and help make it fit for play again! Bring wellies, a shovel or rake and a barrow if you have one.

Please help by publicising this to your friends and coming along to help your community.

On Sunday 13th January, the Council was delighted that 25 adults and 6 children turning up on armed with shovels and barrows. The thick layer of silt and debris washed into the playground by the winter floods (the last of which had only happened the day before!) has now been removed, ready for washing the safety surfaces.
The Council wants to say a big 'thank you' to everyone who turned up to help the village, and the Clerk would like to thank Mrs Ethelston's school secretary, the Uplyme Pre-School manager and local press, who all helped her with publicity for the event.
