A meeting of Uplyme Parish Council will be held at the Village Hall on
Wednesday 13th March 2013 at 7.15 pm.

Agenda

1. To resolve under the provisions of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 that the public be excluded from the meeting for items no. 13 and 14 on the agenda because publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business.

The meeting will then be adjourned for a presentation from Kate Day of the Environment Agency about Flood Resilience, followed by the Open Forum.

2. To accept apologies for absence.

3. To adopt the Minutes of the previous meeting.

4. Matters arising from the minutes not covered by other agenda items.

5. To make and receive declarations of pecuniary or other interests on agenda items.

6. Planning: to make responses to current applications; any other planning matters.

7. Finance: to approve the schedule of cheques for this month; to consider a grant towards a disabled WC in the Church; any other finance issues.

8. Correspondence

9. Parish council land: Insurance issues – to consider issues brought up by recent visit of insurance agent, viz. risk assessments, tree inspections, PL insurance of gravedigger, and possible double insurance on playground risks. Also recording names and inscriptions on War Memorial. Procedure for maintenance contract bidding and selection. Any other issues relating to PC land.

10. Flooding WP: progress report and recent meetings.

11. Reports to note:

i) Finance: position at 28th February 2013
ii) Footpaths
iii) Highway matters
iv) Playground
v) Emergency plan
vi) Affordable Housing
vii) Meetings attended by Councillors: neighbourhood planning, ...
viii) County Councillor’s report
ix) District Councillor’s report

12. Any other business – for information.

OPEN FORUM

13. Tenders for maintenance contract. To resolve upon accepting a tender for 2013-14.

14. Clerk’s hours. To discuss the Finance Committee’s recommendation to increase the Clerk’s hours next financial year, as budgeted for.

Kate Taylor of the Environment Agency has sent PDF versions of two useful publications for householders liable to flood.

Living on the edge (advice for riparian owners) and Before, during and after a flood: self help advice.

You can also read previous flood reports from the Council and also the County Council on the news page.

The Clerk will have limited quantities of paper copies available in a week or two.
